Bailey Ott still can’t believe how much one layup temporarily changed her life.

It was just over a year ago when Ott, now a senior at Springdale High, was playing in a pick-up game at a gym in Rogers. At one point, Ott went up for a layup before she felt her left knee give, causing her to fall to the ground.

Ott’s left foot took the brunt of the crash, and in the process, a spiral fracture in her left ankle sent a wave of pain up her leg.

It’s a feeling Ott hasn’t forgotten.
