Springdale Har-Ber coach Chris Wood and senior defensive back Houston Pruitt were both honored at the State Farm Awards banquet Monday night.
Wood, who guided Har-Ber to its first state championship on Dec. 5, was named the Class 7A/6A Coach of the Year, while Pruitt was named the Class 7A/6A Defensive Player of the Year.
“It was a good honor, there are some outstanding coaches and players in this state,” Wood said. “Watching Houston get honored, that was a lot of fun. He was such a big piece to our defensive puzzle this season. It’s going to be weird not having him around anymore.”
