Fayetteville police seek hit-and-run driver

Posted: December 16, 2009 at 7:05 a.m.

— Police in Fayetteville are looking for a driver believed to have hit and killed a woman in the northwestern part of the city.

The body of 28-year-old Shamika Redden was found in the road Sunday morning after being hit by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup called police and investigators believe Redden was already lying in the road when she was hit by the truck.

Sgt. Tim Franklin says evidence at the scene suggests another vehicle struck Redden before she was hit by the pickup.
