Iran to try 3 American hikers

U.S. re-appeals to free travelers who crossed border from Iraq

Iran’s foreign minister announced Monday that Americans Shane Bauer and Sarah Shourd (shown above), and Josh Fattal, who are being held for crossing an unmarked border from northern Iraq in July will be tried on yet-to-be-named charges.

Iran said Monday a court will try three Americans who wandered across the border from Iraq last July and became ensnared in an increasingly bitter standoff with the West over Tehran’s nuclear program.
