School Board hedges bets in case of strike

It greases way for fill-in teachers

In a move that raised tension in an already testy labor dispute, the Pulaski County Special School District Board voted 4-0 on Friday to increase substitute-teacher pay in the event of a strike, hire 20 permanent substitutes and give a $50 bonus to every teacher who reported to work during Thursday’s walkout.
