El Dorado Coach Scott Reed celebrates the Wildcats’ 27-20 victory over Pine Bluff in the Class 6A championship game with his son and quarterback, Taylor, after Saturday’s game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The victory gave the Wildcats their second state championship and first since 1958.

Pine Bluff had Claude Johnson, but El Dorado had just a little more. Junior tailback Cameron Mahone’s 7-yard touchdown run with 8:24 remaining lifted top-ranked El Dorado to a 27-20 victory over No. 2 Pine Bluff in the Class 6A state championship game before a crowd of 7,586 Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
