PUBLIC VIEWPOINT Sorting Through Serious Candidates

Your recent editorial regarding the upcoming straw poll at the Republican Party of Arkansas meeting in Hot Springs shows an appalling lack of knowledge on the subject. The purpose of this straw poll is to give serious declared Republican candidates an opportunity to speak directly to party members and then get a sense of how well their message was received. It has never been intended to be a soapbox for whoever wakes up that morning and decides they want to be a candidate.
