Gray Accused Of Exposing Fifth Girl To HIV
Posted: December 4, 2009 at 5:04 a.m.
BENTONVILLE A Siloam Springs teen has been arrested for a third time — for exposing a fifth girl to HIV through sexual contact.
Chistopher Gray, 18, is already charged with four counts of exposing another person to human immunodeficiency virus. He is accused of having sex with the girls without telling them he is HIV positive.
Gray was arrested in April after police learned of the allegations involving one girl. Gray was arrested a second time a few months later after three more girls came forward claiming to have had sex with Gray, and he didn’t tell them of his HIV status.
On Thursday morning, Gray’s case was scheduled for a hearing to determine whether he would be tried as a juvenile or adult. Gray was 17 when he was first arrested. However, the hearing was rescheduled for 8 a.m. Dec. 21.
Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie McLemore informed the court of Gray’s most recent arrest in November. McLemore plans to file formal charge in connection with Gray’s arrest before the Dec. 21 hearing.
The fifth girl claims she had sex with Gray last year, but he didn’t tell her he was HIV positive, according to court documents. The girl claimed a friend first told her Gray had AIDS. When she confronted him, Gray denied having AIDS, but admitted to being HIV positive, according to court documents.
If convicted, Gray faces a prison sentence ranging from six to 30 years on each count.
He is being held on $10,000 bond in the Benton County Jail.
