How to say nothing at length

THE PASSIVE voice. It’s driven more editors to drink than reporters’ spelling “alright” as one word. When somebody uses the passive voice, he’s not accepting responsibility, he’s evading it. What do you mean you were playing in the living room and ‘the lamp got broke’ ? Who broke the lamp, son?
