Dip in jobless claims a pleasant surprise

Job seekers wait in line to speak to potential employers at a job fair Tuesday in Philadelphia.
The tally of newly laid-off workers seeking unemployment benefits fell unexpectedly for the fifth straight week, the Labor Department said Thursday, a hopeful sign that the job market is slowly improving.
