Beebe: State in right over parolee

Healing time, can fix blame later, he says

Gov. Mike Beebe talks about a conversation he had Thursday with Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire. “Now is a time for the people of Washington to heal and be comforted,” Beebe said.

The governors of Arkansas and Washington spoke Thursday about circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of four police officers Sunday but remained at odds over which state was responsible for allowing the Arkansas parolee suspected in the slayings to remain free in the months before the shooting.
