Long-planned Jewish synagogue nearing completion
28-year-old Temple Shalom to have first permanent home

Donnie Perkins, with Roberts-McNutt roofing contractors, installs soffit Thursday afternoon on the new Jewish synagogue, Temple Shalom, at the intersection of Sang Avenue and Cleveland Street in Fayetteville. The synagogue is nearing completion but still has to raise $200,000 to complete the project.
The dream is finally nearing reality for Temple Shalom. Since 1981, members of this Jewish congregation have been moving from place to place, from rent building to rent building, in search of a permanent home. Next month, though, the moving will stop for good when the Temple Shalom enters a place they can finally call their own.
