TABLE FOR ONE: My lucky day
Recounting a stressful day's close calls

I couldn't sleep the other night due to worrying about my appointment with the dermatologist for minor surgery the following morning. I tossed and turned. But it was my lucky day. The Arkansas and Missouri train that rumbles in and out of Fayetteville was on a night run to Fort Smith. I listened to the engine whistle as it moved through the night, crossing North Street and Dickson Street as it rumbled on south towards Greenland.
