Tom Barrett, 55, the Milwaukee mayor, who suffered a shattered hand and got two of his teeth knocked out by a thief as he tried to help a woman and her 1-year-old granddaughter, said from his front yard, "We're on the mend, everything's heading in the right direction, and I just wanted to let you know I'm still standing."
