— The founder of a civil rights organization that targets hate groups is scheduled to speak at the University of Arkansas School of Law.

Southern Poverty Law Center founder Morris Dees will give a presentation at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Leflar Law Center.

A civil rights attorney, Dees founded the center in 1971 in Montogomery, Ala. It is known for its legal victories against white supremacists and its tracking of hate groups.

Dees took on several highly controversial civil rights cases across the south in the 1960s, including a 1969 suit to integrate the Montgomery YMCA.
