BENTON COUNTY — Marcus P. Stokes
Lance Cpl. Marcus P. Stokes was home on leave over theJuly Fourth weekend visiting with friends and relatives.
Stokes is the son of Jeff and Debbie Stokes of Siloam Springs. He is the grandson of Dana Boehm of Siloam Springs and Jim and Jackie Jobe of Bentonville; the great-grandson of Revah Stokes of Salina, Kan.; and the step-great-grandson of Dortha Jobe of Pea Ridge.
Lance Cpl. Stokes is now in Biloxi, Miss .,attending an advanced technology aircraft school.
His younger brother, Anthony Stokes, has also enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and will leave for basic training after graduating in 2010.
Turner S. Phillips
Air Force Airman Turner S. Phillips graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Phillips, a 2008 graduate of Pea Ridge High School, is the son of Robert Phillips of Pea Ridge and Melissa Thommasson of Simpsonville, Ky.
