BASKETBALL Bentonville Basketball Club registration
The Bentonville Basketball Club is now pre-registering athletes for the 2009 fall basketball club tryouts. Registration is open to boys in rising 5th, 6th and 7th grades. Arkansas Elite tryouts
Arkansas Elite is holding a workout/tryout for the 2010 AAU summer season on Saturday,Aug. 22.
Players interested must be in the 10th or 11th grade during the 2009-2010 school year.The teams will travel to state and national AAU events next summer and will begin play in early March.

BASEBALL Wiffle ball tournament
Batter Up of Bentonville will host a Wiffle Ball Tournament on Saturday,Aug. 22, at the T-ball fields at Phillips Park.
Cost to enter is $30 for a four-person team with a two-game guarantee. Four divisions are available: Family (2 adults and 2 children); Children: 7 to 10 years of age;
Children: 11 and older; and a Corporate division.

Fall ball in Bentonville
Registration for fall baseball with Bentonville Youth Baseball is under way. Fall baseball is geared to offer a more relaxed game. Standings are not kept.
In-person registrations are 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 22, and 6-8 p.m.Aug. 29 at the Arvest Conference Center off the square in downtown Bentonville.
Online registration is available at www.bentonvillecalripken.org and ends Aug. 28.
Ages, based on the age of the child on April 30, 2009, that will play together are:
◊7, 8, 9
◊10, 11, 12
◊13, 14, 15.
These groupings may change depending on registrations.
Cost is $85.Tryouts will not be held.The league provides a uniform shirt and a cap.
The 14-game season starts the week of Sept. 7 and ends by Nov. 1. No games will be played on Saturdays when the Razorbacks are in Fayetteville. Rainouts or cancellations will not be made up. Games will be played with a 90-minute time limit.
Games for ages 7 through 9 will be played at Bonds Sports Complex (north of Elm Tree Elementary School) on Saturday morning and afternoons and Sunday afternoons, with the possibility of some Thursday evening games.Thursday evening games will be played at Phillips Park when the Razorbacks play in Fayetteville.This age group is at Bonds because of ongoing renovations at Memorial Park rendered the fields unplayable.
Games for ages 10 through 15 will be played on Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoon, and Sunday afternoons.
Manager selection starts Aug. 24 and will be completed by Sept. 1.
Teams will be built by Sept. 1.
Fall ball in Pea Ridge
The Pea Ridge Cal Ripken League is now accepting registrations for their Fall Baseball League which will begin on Saturday, Sept. 12, and should run through the month of October.
Games will be played on the weekends.The age groups are: 5 & 6 Year Old (T-Ball), and 7 & 8 Year Old (Machine Pitch).The cost is $30 per player and the deadline to enter is September 1.

FOOTBALL Mountie Moms Football 101 Clinic
The Rogers football team will host its annual Mountie Moms Football 101 Clinic on Saturday,Aug. 22, at 11 a.m.
at the fieldhouse.
Moms, grandmothers and neighbors of Rogers football players and spirit squad members or any interested women are invited.
Rogers football coaches will explain the game and a referee will explain penalties.
Lunch will be served and door prizes will be given out.

True Blue Tuesdays
The Rogers football team invites Mountie fans to True Blue Tuesdays, which offer an inside look to the program, the previous week's game and the upcoming opponents' scouting report.The meeting includes season stats, drawings for prizes, video highlights, injury reports, a Football 101 segment and announcement of the team's weekly awards.The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the film room in the fieldhouse.
Boys & Girls Club fall registration dates
The Boys & Girls Club has released its fall athletics registration dates.
The registration fee for athletic programs is $50. If a child has not been a member in calendar year 2009, then a $40 membership fee is also required.This fee will also allow the member to attend the clubs during the fall session. If the child has been a member in 2009 and would like to attend the fall session the $40 may also be paid at this time.
Head coaching applications are also being taken.Applications can be picked up at the club or found online at bgcbentoncounty.org.All applicants, including returning coaches, should fill out attachment and return paper copy (notarized) to the McKinney Unit.

The Northwest Arkansas Women's Golf Association's annual invitational golf tournament will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3rd.This September tradition is celebrating its 40th year.The tournament is being hosted by the Bella Vista Women's 18-hole Golf Club.
The playing format will low gross/low net at Berksdale Golf Club in Bella Vista.The playing field will be limited to the first 144 entries. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Lunch and awards will follow play. Entry forms are available online at the Bella Vista POA golf Web site and in all Bella Vista golf shops after that date.
Pea Ridge Golf Classic
The Pea Ridge Optimist Club will host its 16th annual Pea Ridge Classic at Big Sugar Golf Club on Aug. 22.The format will be a four-person scramble with an entry fee of $60 per person.
Kids and spouses are invited from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. forfree games and food on the putting green by the pro shop.

AWGA Designated Tournament
The final Arkansas Women's Golf Association (AWGA) designated tournament of the 2009 season will be held Aug. 22-23 at Bella Vista Country Club.
A designated tournament is a pre-flighted tournament based upon each person's USGA handicap.The format is Low Gross/Low Net over the two days of play.
The tournament is an opportunity for the women of Bella Vista to support AWGA's work in course rating all of Bella Vista's courses at no charge and support the junior girls golfers throughout the state.
Entrants may declare for Championship Flight and play at approximately 5,800 yards. Championship Flights qualify for points for various state player of the year awards. Entrants may choose to play from the No. 4 tees and receive awards for the Bella Vista Designated Tournament.A portion of every entry supports the junior girls' golf tournaments throughout the state of Arkansas.

Officials needed
