100 YEARS AGO Aug. 12, 1909 Acting on the request of Mayor W.B. Duley, in a letter written Saturday, the banks who are members of the Clearing House Association yesterday afternoon at a meeting of the association agreed to take care of the city payrolls until the first of the year at a regular discount of 8 percent.
