LR SCHOOL CRISIS After year-long gap, classes reopened

Marchers walk from the state Capitol toward Central High School on Aug. 12, 1959 - but police stopped them about a block from the school.
Fifty years ago today, Little Rock's public high schools reopened with token integration after sitting closed the previous school year to avoid race mixing there.
