Wal-Mart program keeps produce fresh in regional stores

Abraham Carpenter, owner of Carpenter's Produce adds more cucumbers to his table in the Little Rock Farmer's Market. Carpenter's Produce is among a handful of state producers who sell locally grown produce to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. The Bentonville retailer continues the locally grown campaign it launched in 2006.
Dave Sargent is one of a few Arkansas farmers who helps Wal-Mart Stores Inc. cut the miles between farms and the supercenters that sell the locally grown fruits and vegetables.
