A downside to cash for clunkers
Used car dealers, auction owners feeling pinch from trade-in incentive

Dennis Bergthold, the owner of 2 B's Auto Sales in Siloam Springs, stood in front of a sign he put up yesterday in front of his car lot. The 'Cash for Clunkers' promotion is helping new auto dealerships but is also hurting the used-car dealers by drying up their supply pipeline.
It's difficult to get through a radio spot, a television commercial break or a newspaper section without hearing or seeing the words "cash for clunkers" these days.
