Any group from Texas who names their band after a Japanese anime character is likely to have diverse influences, and that's certainly the case with Zechs Marquise. The group is led by the duo Marfred and Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, brothers of progressive rock composer Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta. The group has toured with Omar's solo project and has also recorded a studio album, "Our Delicate Stranded Nightmare." Now back in the states after a European tour earlier this year, Zechs Marquise will perform Monday at the Smoke & Barrel Tavern, 324 W. Dickson St. in Fayetteville. Admission to the 9 p.m. show is $5. Also performing are locals St. Anthony and A+ Setup. For details, visit www.zechsmarquise.com.
