Breaking China : Goodbye recession - hello depression?

The signs are everywhere for those knowing where to look and willing to squint. The stock market has seen its best rally in decades with the Dow breaking 9,000 for the first time since January. The rate of new jobless claims has slowed, as has the contraction in Gross Domestic Product that defines a recession. Things are a long way from looking rosy, but worries concerning a new depression seem to have abated.
