Information session for women veterans

FAYETTEVILLE — The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks will host an information session for women veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 in the auditorium of Building 3 on the Fayetteville’s medical center campus. All women who served in the military are invited to the free event. Representatives will be available to answer questions regarding eligibility, benefits, education, readjustment, compensation and medical care for women veterans. Guest speakers will include Dr. Jeffery Jones at 11 a.m. to discuss hormone replacement; registered nurse Ann Butler at 11:30 a.m. to discuss osteoporosis; and Dr. Dana Grear at noon to discuss breast health. Kathleen R. Fogarty, director of the Fayetteville medical center, said women veterans are a “growing and important demographic” that the health care system strives to reach.
