Proposed Oak Street extension

Rogers City Council members will be asked Tuesday to approve a contract for design of Oak Street. The extension would be east of Second Street and cross the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad tracks. The work would open another east-west street to funnel traffic to First Street, Monte Ne Road and, eventually, the eastern corridor from Fayetteville to Rogers which is now being planned. City engineers stress design work is just starting On the Oak Street extension and exact routes could change. The design might include a roundabout, although that is undecided.
