CENTERTON -- Police were called Thursday night to West High School in response to a "vague threat" posted on social media, according to a message Principal Jonathon Guthrie issued to parents.

"There was a report of a bomb threat by a student that proved to be a hoax," Guthrie wrote. "After a check of the campus, no evidence of a (bomb) was discovered. Again, this was not a credible threat."

Guthrie encouraged parents to talk to their children about "the criminal and educational consequences" of making such threats.
