Woman shot after stopping to check tire in Little Rock, police say

A woman was shot in the leg Sunday night after she stopped her car in southwest Little Rock to check her tire, according to a police report.

Officers could hear gunshots popping in the distance as they pulled up to Kristian Sprouse's car, parked on Baseline Road near Interstate 30, according to the report. Sprouse was sitting in the driver's seat with the door open, holding her right leg.

Officers cut through her clothing and found a bullet wound on her thigh. There was no exit wound and her leg wasn't bleeding heavily. After she was taken to the hospital, a doctor said the bullet was a small caliber, possibly a .22, according to the report.

Sprouse said she had been shot when she stopped her car near some apartments a few streets away from where police found her. Police checked the area but didn't find anything, and no arrests had been made, according to the report.
